Literature

Karl Marx once said, ” Give me twenty-six lead soldiers and I will conquer the world.”. He was speaking of the twenty-six letters of the alphabet. He recognized the power of the printed page. Christians must also recognize this.

” Yes, literature is more powerful than Atomic Bombs!”  That is why God used His Word, the Bible, to evangelize to the world. The printed page is as powerful as the spoken Word. God said, ” My Word…..shall not return to Me void” (Isa. 55:11).

How important is the Bible, God’s Word? Psalms 138:2 says, “You (GOD) have exalted above all things, Your name and Your Word.” If God regards His Word so highly, then we ought to be busy in spreading it and doing all we can to make it available to the lost. That is why with God’s help, we continue to distribute our monthly magazine, “The Upper Room Voice” to thousands of homes in the land of India. This Spirit-filled and power packed magazine has touched, convicted and driven many to the Lord Jesus Christ in India. This magazine is currently printed and distributed in three major lanuages of India. We are continually receiving numerous praise letters and e-mails, as well as prayer requests from subscribers.

Gospel tracts and other printed material in native languages are one of the most powerful tools used in the mission field. This is because they are not usually thrown away; rather they are “recycled,” meaning that they are often passed along to others after being utilized by eager subscribers. For many in secluded areas, this may be the only source for learning about salvation through Jesus Christ. Because of its effectiveness in reaching numerous lives, Gospel literature is a necessity in the mission field.
